Reasons for starting a corporate kendo club

President Hayano: " We started a corporate kendo club in April, six years after the company was founded. I also practice kendo, so I had always wanted to take part in a corporate tournament. My son and his juniors from university got together and I was able to compete in the tournaments. I think it's great that I can look forward to kendo while working."

Kendo was the trigger for joining the company

Obana : "I joined the company because a senior colleague from a local dojo was in the construction department. Having a kendo club means we can have lively conversations with customers who have seen our website, and they think we're polite because we practice kendo. I think that's a good thing about the kendo club, as it actually adds to our work.

By participating in kendo matches, we can make connections that go beyond work. We both perform our normal work with a strict professional attitude, but during matches we can chat in a friendly atmosphere, which helps to balance work and private life."

Training sessions attracting strong corporate athletes

Taniguchi: " Indoor Ahiz practice sessions are a lot of fun. I heard that it's a fruitful practice, so I started participating. I've participated in several practice sessions so far."

Shiga: "Rather than just practicing within the company, I think it's a great opportunity to practice with other companies on a regular basis. I'm actively participating."
