About the product

<A sword that combines sharpness and beauty, made by modern master craftsman Kunitada>
This is an attractive sword that is both practical and aesthetically pleasing, created by Kunitada (real name: Komiya Yokomitsu), a swordsmith living in Omuta City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

<Inherited skills of a prestigious family>
Master Kunitada is the eldest son of his father, Komiya Shiro Kunimitsu, who was known as the "great work of the Showa era." His father was a master swordsman who defeated Kotetsu in the "National Sword Test Competition" and was praised as "Ima Kotetsu." For generations, the Komiya family has been passionate about making "sharp swords."
The history of the Komiya family dates back to the Edo period, and was founded by Shinano no Kami Fujiwara Hisahiro, who served as the official blacksmith for the Tachibana clan of the Yanagawa domain in Chikugo. The fourth-generation master, Komiya Shiro Kunimitsu, aspires to the ideals of sword-making by the master swordsmith Miike Tenta Mitsuyo of the Heian period, and this spirit is deeply rooted in the family.
"Making sharp swords" - this is the unchanging belief that runs through the Komiya family, and this work is imbued with that spirit to the fullest.

<Features of this work>
-Beautiful Jigane: The blade features a stunning texture reminiscent of the famous sword, Norishige.
- Extremely practical: Recommended as an Iaido sword for advanced practitioners and also as an ornamental sword.
- Carefully crafted fittings: High-quality sword fittings are made to enhance the beauty of the blade.
This sword is unique to swordsmith Kunitada and can be enjoyed not only for practice and demonstrations, but also as a work of art.
