Graduated from Fukuoka University Ohori High School and Fukuoka University. After working for one year at his alma mater, Ohori High School, and five years at Nakamura Gakuen Sanyo Junior High School, he was transferred to Nakamura Gakuen Girls' High School in 1997. At the Gyokuryu-ki tournament, they achieved a record six consecutive Inter-High victories, and developed into one of the nation's leading schools, winning the tournament a record 10 times. He has contributed to the team's 22 national championships.
