The first four stitches on the mengane, where shock absorption is important, are 2.0 minute stitches. Gunome stitches are used over a wide area up to the upper edge of the selvedge, resulting in a comfortable fit.

The shape of the kote head is based on a design that was well-received in traditional machine-stitched flashes.
The kote futon has a deep groove that wraps around the upper arm to make it easier to turn your wrist.
