Demonstration at Japan Festival 2017

Hello! I'm Sato, in charge of the international edition of BUSHIZO.
On Sunday, October 8th, 2017, I attended Japan Festival 2017, which was held in Amstelveen, Netherlands.

Every year at the Japan Festival, Japanese food is served and workshops are held.
Japanese foods introduced include ramen, udon, beef bowls, and curry.
In addition, there were workshops where participants could try out arts such as calligraphy and flower arranging, as well as demonstrations of karate, kendo, Japanese drumming, and chorus.

In the Netherlands, I belong to a dojo called Renshinjuku, and I participated in a kendo demonstration with the dojo members.
The demonstration will consist of basic training with elementary and junior high school students.
There were so many spectators that the venue was filled to capacity.
Furthermore, this demonstration prompted a Dutch child who had stopped practicing kendo to say, "Maybe I should start again..." and it also seemed to pique the interest of people who practiced kendo in Japan. I would be delighted if this demonstration sparked an interest in Japanese culture among the people of the Netherlands.

BUSHIZO also has an overseas version, and we would like to continue working hard not only on our main business of e-commerce sales, but also to promote kendo overseas.
