How to fold a judo uniform
MAYU: "Now, I'll explain how to fold your gi. First, place the gi with the front part facing up."

MAYU: "Then, fold this part a little and place it inside, then fold the sleeve in half. Do the same on the other side."

MAYU: "Once it's done, lay it on its side, fold the bottom part a little, and then fold it in half."

MAYU: "Turn it over and when it looks like this, it's done."

How to fold hakama
RYOKO: "Now, I'll explain how to fold the hakama. First, align the pleats at the back of the hakama."

RYOKO: Once you've lined it up, turn the hakama inside out.

RYOKO: "I fold the hakama as neatly as possible, making sure the pleats are aligned as neatly as possible."

RYOKO: "I'll get off on both sides once."

RYOKO: "Fold the bottom part a little, then fold it once, twice."

RYOKO: First, fold the long strings of the hakama in half, then in half again, and place them diagonally.

RYOKO: Do the same on the other side, fold it in half and then in half again to make a cross.

RYOKO: "Pass the short string above the batten under the batten."

RYOKO: After passing it through the back of the batten, bring it in the same direction as this string and pass it through the back again.

RYOKO: "The other side of the string is passed through the back of the batten in the same way, and then threaded between the strings like this."

RYOKO: "Fold the excess string at the bottom and hide it inside."

RYOKO: "This concludes my explanation of how to fold a hakama."

When folding hakama, the most difficult part is turning it inside out. Imagine inserting your hand from underneath and flipping it over in one go.
It is very difficult to put hakama back together once the creases have disappeared, so it is a good idea to get into the habit of folding them neatly every time.
Next time, we will teach you how to store your armor. Stay tuned!
