This is the third in a series of articles explaining the basics of kendo that beginners should know before starting kendo.

This is the third time, and this time we will show you how to attach the waist cord.

3. How to attach the waist cord

MAYU & RYOKO "Hello everyone"

MAYU: "This is MAYU from Osuka, a kendo equipment specialty store."

RYOKO: "This is RYOKO. This video is for all kendo beginners. Please take a look."

MAYU & RYOKO: "Please"

RYOKO: "I'll explain how to attach the dousho. There are two types of dousho, long and short, so I'll show you how to attach each one."

RYOKO: "The short waist cord is attached here at the bottom. Pass the loop through the place where the waist cord is attached like this."

RYOKO: "Once you've threaded it through, thread this string through, pull it all the way through, and finally pull it tight and it's done."

RYOKO: "Similarly, put the other side through the loop and the string, and the short string is complete."

RYOKO: "Thread all the long strings through in the same way."

Following on from last time's explanation of how to attach the men's strings, this time we were shown how to attach the dousho strings.

Once you remember one thing, the rest is the same, so even beginners should be able to do it easily.
