This is a review article of the Sen HIRAMEKI FT Kendo Gi (Kendo uniform) and FT Hakama.

These kendo uniforms and hakama are made from new materials and were released as a new product in 2019 by Matsukan Kogyo, a long-established manufacturer that is always creating innovative products.

What are HIRAMEKI FT Kendo uniforms and FT Hakama?

This is our latest product, made using FT fabric, which combines the sweat-absorbing properties of cotton (indigo dyed) with the lightweight and wrinkle-resistant properties of polyester .

FT stands for Fusion Technology, which means the fusion of cotton and polyester yarns.

The appearance is similar to that of cotton judo uniforms and hakama, and it gives the impression of combining the best features of both cotton and polyester products .

By combining these two, I believe this product has increased its benefits and reduced the disadvantages of previous products.

Basic specifications of FT Kendo uniform

■Specifications

Single layer, back seam, washed, FT fabric

The combination of strong polyester thread for the weft and soft cotton thread for the warp gives the fabric both strength and flexibility!

The back seam construction reduces wrinkles in the back area, resulting in a beautiful look.

I really like the cut of the transition part.

It conforms to your body when you take a stance, so it is less likely to wrinkle.

FT Hakama Specifications

■Specifications: Back pleat stitching, thin string tip, washed finish, FT fabric

The pleats are sewn on both the front and back.

The pleats will not come out even after use or washing because it has pleat stitching on the front and back, which is not found in regular cotton or terylene hakama.

You can keep your clothes looking nice!

It is even cut so that the back rises when worn.

Summary of benefits

I will list the advantages that I have noticed. To be honest, I can't see any disadvantages at the moment.

・The uniform is made with a back seam and has a unique Matsukan collar design that is difficult to open, making it beautiful to wear and providing a good fit (dogi).

・The beautiful appearance that can only be seen in cotton hakama (hakama)

- The pleats do not come loose, so the beauty of the garment is maintained and it is easy to fold up after practice. (Hakama)

・The beautiful texture of the indigo dye makes it suitable not only for everyday practice, but also for training sessions and matches.

・The single layer karate uniform is made of FT fabric, so it is extremely light and there is no stress caused by the weight during practice.

- Absorbs sweat so it doesn't drip. Gentle on protective gear.

-It dries quickly, so it's great for both practice and after washing.

I think that the dampness will make it less likely to produce an odor.

I've only used it about 10 times so far, so I'll report back on anything I notice after using it more!
