A detailed report on the appeal of BUSHIZO's original high-quality jersey gloves, ARM

BUSHIZO オリジナル防具 高級ジャージ甲手 ARM(アーム)の魅力を伝える詳細レポート

The high-quality jersey gloves ARM have been released as BUSHIZO's first original protective gear.

Many people may have seen it in a commercial at LET'S KENDO when it was first released in the fall of 2018.

These gloves are made of jersey material and feature white decorative threads that give them a fresh and sporty look.

How is it actually usable? I would like to report on it in this article.

The product name ARM has three meanings: Armor, Arm, and Arm (weapon).

The voice in the video was provided by reporter Makoto Otake , who is well known from the information program "Sukkiri."

In fact, he is a kendo enthusiast who practices kendo every week. Despite having a break from kendo, he has achieved great results, including coming in second place in the individual Shinagawa Ward tournament.

What materials are ARMs made of?

The outer part of the gloves is made of Toray's Tetknit material, and the inner part is made of Toray's Sillead.
There are other companies that use similar materials made overseas for both Tetnit and Sillead, but Toray's material is said to be far superior in performance.

These materials are characterized by their excellent sweat absorption and quick drying properties , allowing you to practice in a comfortable environment. Also, since they are made of jersey material, they can be washed after practice. They dry quickly, so you can use them for practice the next day.

The inside of the hand is made of ultra suede, which is softer, more supple, and more moisturizing than the typical synthetic leather used for gloves, and feels similar to deerskin.

ARM is made from these materials, making it extremely light!

This is a personal item of BUSHIZO staff member Kudo. I put it in a laundry net and washed it gently on the dry cycle in the washing machine. Sweat and dirt were thoroughly removed.

I also added fabric softener, which gave it a nice scent. It also maintained its beautiful appearance, and I was impressed that it didn't show any signs of use.

I'll be feeling good about the next practice.

How easy is it to grip and hold?

From the moment you put your hands in, you won't feel any stiffness or pain, which is something you often feel with new gloves.

First, the outer part of the kote is carved out at a sharp angle, which makes it easier to grip the shinai correctly and gives it a comfortable fit.

We are particular about the kote style. We create the style based on the opinions of our 7th dan teacher and highly skilled craftsmen.

This allows you to achieve a grip that allows you to apply force to the parts of your hand that need it and relax in other areas.

The feeling of being hit...

It doesn't hurt (please note that this may vary from person to person).

It is not just soft, but also has firm cushioning (elasticity) .

Basically, it is an orthodox and faithful tailoring. In recent years, there are many short kote, but in comparison, the kote may seem a little long, but it is not too long and is standard.

The kote head is densely stuffed with cotton , without the reduced material that is often found in lightweight combat kote.

(The gloves are light to begin with, so there is no need to reduce the weight by reducing the amount of material.)

The tube part is 8mm thick. 8mm thick is wider than the standard, which makes the surface plumper and improves cushioning. I think this is a new type of gloves that is light and soft yet highly cushioned, something that has never been seen before.

We also had some strong players try it out.

The youngest Japanese representative at the 17th World Championships, Hoshiko (currently a student at the University of Tsukuba and a graduate of Kyushu Gakuin High School)

Daiki Kiwada, a master of kendo, has won the All Japan Championships, the World Kendo Championships, and the National Police Championships.

Asahi Ikeda, captain of the Akishima Chuo Kendo Club, won the 53rd National Dojo Junior Kendo Tournament.

Ryohei Yamada, representing Hokkaido, and Kai Senda, representing Miyagi Prefecture (who was a member of the Meiji University Kendo Club at the time), participated in the 66th All Japan Kendo Championships . →Click here for the interview article.

lastly

ARM is highly cushioned, comfortable, and easy to use, and is also easy to care for , so I think it is definitely ideal for practice.

It's also very light, so we hope you'll try it out in a match.
