  2. Bring the tape down through the tip of the chin, past the front of the ear, and wrap it all the way around — measuring at cheek level.

How to Choose the Right Size for Kendo Gi and Hakama

Point!

Measuring the sleeve length will give you the perfect size!

Recommended height is a guideline. By measuring properly, you can select an even more suitable size!

How to Measure Sleeve Length

Measure from the back of your neck → around your shoulder → past your elbow → to your wrist. (It's easier with 2 people if possible)

① Position hand at back of neck

② Measure around shoulder to elbow

③ Continue to wrist (around thumb base)

④ Make sure arm is slightly bent

Compare your measurement to the sleeve length in the chart above and select your size based on your physique and preference.

If you're between 2 sizes: Smaller people should choose the smaller size.

Example: If your sleeve measurement is Wide base, you could choose size 3 (sleeve 63cm), 3L (sleeve 66cm) → Size 3L would be recommended
Point!

Measuring from waist to hem will give you the perfect hakama size!

Recommended height is a guideline. By measuring below the navel, you can select an even more suitable size!

How to Measure Hakama Length

For Men & Children

Stand naturally and measure from just below the navel to the top of the anklebone. Select the hakama size where this measurement matches "waist to hem" in the chart.

For Women

Stand naturally with feet shoulder-width apart and measure from below the navel to the top of the anklebone. For women, the measurement should reach just above the anklebone.

Compare your measurement to the hakama chart above and select your size based on your physique and preference.

If you're between 2 sizes: Smaller people should choose the smaller size.

Example: If your actual measurement is Wide base, you could choose size 24 (91cm) or size 25 (95cm) → Size 24 would be recommended
👶
For Growing Children:

We recommend choosing one size larger than the measurements indicate, as hakama are typically worn slightly shorter.
